My calculator turns on and shows the ram cleared after turning on and then when you try to input anything the cursor just gets stuck and hangs. Nothing happens after that. it is unresponsive and does not responds to any input given and just stays blank. i have removed all the five batteries and replaced but still the same. when i try to connect it with my laptop it not being detected by the software.

Check the I/O port for any debris. Sometimes dirt will confuse and freeze the calculator.
You can try an OS reinstall. Take out one battery then hold [Stat] while putting the battery back in. It should say something like 'send OS new' or 'waiting for OS'.
Now plug the calculator into your computer using the USB cable and send the OS. You can download it from TI's website or directly from TI-Planet: http://ti-pla.net/a2111
It will take a few minutes to install.

are you saying some of the keys work and it locks up after hitting those keys?
