Front glass replacement over complete screen replacement?

My iPhone 11 Pro Max fell from me recently and the screen got cracked up. Despite this my screen is working completely fine so there’s no reason to replace the entire screen. Is it possible for me to do a DIY front glass only replacement? I don’t want to lose my Face ID and overall quality of the original screen.

Hey there Shan,

To put it simply there isn't really a good way to replace the "front glass" without replacing the display. iFixit's iPhone 11 Pro Max Screen Replacement guide does have instructions for removing the screen's sensor components, so you should be able to at least keep the Face ID component.

@oseannedd "so there’s no reason to replace the entire screen" but there is. Unless you have the tools, the consumables and the experience to do a glass only repair, it will fail ;-). It'll cost you more to attempt a glass only repair for the first time.
