Hitachi R-V490P8M Fridge freezer working but not cold
Hitachi fridge R-V490P8M.
Top freezer working well. But down not cold. Please advise.

Check if you can hear if the evaporator fan inside the freezer compartment (behind a panel at the back, inside the compartment) is running.
It will be operating as long as the compressor motor (located underneath the compartments) is running and if both the refrigerator and freezer door are shut.
It will stop when either door is opened and start again once the door is shut. Opening and then closing the door a few seconds later may let you hear it stop and start
If you can't hear the fan operating then this may be why the refrigerator compartment is not cold but the freezer compartment is.
This may be due to a faulty evaporator fan, a faulty power supply to the evaporator fan, a faulty door switch or perhaps the fan is iced over and cannot operate.
If the fan is iced over then most probably there's a problem with the auto defrost. This could be due to a faulty defrost heater, a faulty defrost thermostat, a blocked drain leading from below the evaporator unit to the evaporator pan near the compressor under the cabinet or worst case a faulty control board.
If the fan is not iced over, disconnect the fan from the wiring harness and use an Ohmmeter to check if the fan motor is OK. If the motor tests OK you will have to check if power is getting to the fan.
To check the above, disconnect the power to the refrigerator and then remove the panel at the back of the freezer compartment. Access to the panel is through the door at the front of the freezer compartment.
If you can hear the fan operating what are the actual temperatures in each compartment?
Searching online I cannot find any parts supplier for your model. Which country are you located in?

I am from Melaka, Malaysia. The under part fan seems no function. But I can’t sure it is the motor or power supply problem. 😓
If you have a DMM (digital multimeter) you can use its Ohmmeter function to check if the fan motor is OK
Disconnect the power to the refrigerator and then disconnect the fan from the wiring harness and connect the Ohmmeter to the motor connections to check if the fan motor is OK.
if the motor is OK has the refrigerator got "visible" door switches i.e. door switch in the door jamb that is used to turn on/off the light when the door is open/closed that you can manually operate simulating that the door is closed?
If so with the power connected to the refrigerator you can manually operate the door switch and then use the DMM (Voltmeter function) to check if power is getting to the fan motor. Be safety aware as most likely it is 230V AC!!
If the door switches are hidden it will be more difficult as the doors have to be closed for power to be sent to the fan so it is not easy to test for this unless you can find out where the fan is connected to on the control board and test the fan and voltage from there.

Thanks alot jayeff for the advice. I have check with the supplier that you provided- the fan is out of stock now. Order lead time 1-2 months. 😱 I doubt it might be stop produce soon, abit worry!
If there's a model number on the fan, Google the number as there may be other suppliers that have one, not just the Hisense agent in your location.
Always worth a look anyway ;-)
