Why is one of my headphone mic working and the other not

So with the headsets on the back I/O one of the headsets mics don’t work but with the one where it doesn’t work when put in my phone it works completely fine just that on my pc it decides to output the game audio but bass boosted which is weird why it does that if it works completely fine on my phone i assume it’s some kind of software issue

Hi @platinumchest

Check in Control panel > Sound > Playback > Properties to make sure that the correct audio output is selected.

The same with Control Panel > Sound > Recording to make sure that the microphone (check in Properties on that tab) has been selected etc.

To get there type Control Panel in the search box on the Taskbar and select Sound.

Audio does come in but it’s just muffled I have the input volume at the max

I can’t hear my voice when I talk all I hear are the taps I do to it

So I tried some things the buzzing of the mic is back when I play a game I can hear usually the game through the headphone and random sounds that keep repeating

@platinumchest

Check in Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > right click on Realtek High Definition Audio > Properties > Details > In Properties box select Hardware IDs > and note the ven dev and and subsys info in the value box.

It might look something like ven 10EC dev 0887 subsys10438445.

Whatever it is, search online using the string of numbers e.g. ven 10ec 0887 10438445 as similar to my example and check what model Realtek device it is and if there are drivers for it. You may have the incorrect drivers.

Just something to check.
