How do I fix my blender BL455 30 not working when being pushed down?

When I normally push down on the cup to get it to blend, it is not enough power and it has to be at the exact right angle or else it will not start. How do I fix this? It is a workout just trying to find the right spot and put enough pressure into it. Thanks in advance!

@irenekissinger let us know exactly what model your blender is. The blender commonly has some microswitches that close the circuit when you "connect" the cup. It sounds like yours are no longer lining up. Sometimes it is the cup and other times the switch. It might help of we can see more of your blender. take a couple of pictures of where the cup sits, the rim of the cup etc. We may find the reason for it not to come on. @irenekissinger thank you for those pictures. Looks like your base latches are a bit chewed up. One more thing. Those "steps"inside the base, do they move down when depressed? Looks like those are the microswitches.

Hello, thanks for your comment! Yes, they move but only one of them makes a clicking sound. So I think they are the problem, although not sure what to do with that information.

Okay, so it could be that this is the only one that has a micro switch. Let's find out. Now, here comes the fun part. You ready?

Plug your Ninja in, use the end of a ladle or similar and without attaching anything else to your blender, push that "step" down. Now try to turn your blender on. Does it come on? It'll be loud and spooky but as long as you do not touch the center drive, it'll be okay. Watch any sleeves, necklaces or hair hanging over the drive. Don't want to get it pulled in.

Thanks so much for your responses. I tried all of the switches but none turned the blender on. I am wondering though if its because of how much pressure is required and I am not able to put that much pressure with the end of a utensil.

@irenekissinger I don't think it's a pressure issue. As long as you could depress them they should have closed the switch. Big job now, hope you got ten fingers on each hand :-) or have somebody who can help you. Try to depress all four of those "steps", just in case they use a set of switches in series.
