How do I reset my BIOS password on my Toshiba laptop?

I have a Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5136. I forgot my BIOS password and need to reset it. I already tried removing the CMOS battery, but it still won't let me reset my password.

Please let me know what I should try next. Is there something I should try to look for on the motherboard? If you could show me with pictures, that would be great.

Please help me!

Thanks

naz, if I remember right, the password is stored on an IC and cannot easily be restored

Jump D500 with copper wire. Tested, confirmed working with even new Windows 8 satellite c55t touch screen. If you dont have soldier iron scratch points a little, jump them, power cycle it. Done

I have a toshiba c655d-s5518, on that computer there is a jumper labeled xxx just above the DDR3 memory modules (towards battery), if you short the jumper while powering on it clears the BIOS password. on Some other C655D the jumper is labeled B500.

Some boards have a cmos reset next to the memory slot.

This has always worked for me across different brands...the "code" is the code you get when you enter the bios password wrong 3 times.

there are 2 pins next to either the ram or the cmos battery. mine was next to the ram. youll see them next to the ram all alone. turn the computer off. take a flathead scredriver and touch the two pins. hold it there while you power on the computer. the computer should turn on and then shut down. now power it on normally and the password should be gone. ive done this in a dozen c655 and c855s

For Toshiba Satellite NB15t:

To reset Bios password follow these steps:

1. take out memory stick.

2. on the system board (under memory stick) you see Jumper JRST.

3. by a small cable connect Jumper JRST to Ground (usually on the side of slot for Memory Stick)

4. push the power button to turn on laptop.

5. it will reset the Bios password

6. You are done. :-)
