How do I open the case on the Theragun Elite to access the battery?

Hi everyone, I've come here for some help fixing a Theragun Elite.

To give you the backstory, as this may help out others, I bought this as a gift for my wife, but the device would not take a charge. We returned this to the retailer who exchanged it for another new device, but that had the same fault. Looks like there are hundreds of them with dud batteries.

Having done our research this is a really common fault and we were advised by the manufacturer that it would be best to replace with them directly.

What they did was send us out a brand new unit, directly and asked us to "dispose" of the faulty one. That doesn't seem like the right thing to do, so I wanted to see if I could do a repair on this and then give this to a family member.

However, I can't get much further than this (see pics)

I don't want to wreck the casing any more than I have done already. Any suggestions with annotations and arrows would be very helpful :)

@chrisbower I can't make out on your pictures, if you "popped" the panel around the switches off as well. I believe there to be a screw or two that need to be removed. Those are in the vicinity of the arrows.

A small stiff putty knife or plastic opening tools will work better for those panels. They don't get quite as chewed up with those. The panels are a PITA to remove since the tabs are really tight.

That's great many thanks @oldturkey03 - I will give that a try. I have some plastic spudger tools somewhere,

So what happened? Can you provide helpful pics for us?

There are several screws behind this but then the impact end needs to be removed to fully open it. The end can be pulled out and the blue ring and rounded section can be pried out, but the tough part is removing the small pin holding the square socket in place. I was unable to remove it and had to resort to pulling components out via the crack in the side to repair.

Use a drift to remove the crush pin on the shaft/head connector. The nose cone then can be pulled off as well if that is holding you up.

Gentlemen please if you could I think I paid $50 dollars for the therapy. Prolite elitete at a marshals this gun is nice I wouldn't want to marr it up so first things first how do you get the little plugs out that cover the screws that give it the smooth Finnish ? The plugs just go further in the hole so I stopped it's been on the shelf for months I try to charge and same results every time .Second the gun is charging showing all bars but go to turn on but no work then the indicator lights stay on even flashing till dead again I think it could be the switch or the circuit board for the batteries ?does any of this sound familiar to anyone that may have had similar experiences with this therapeutic massager ?
