Screen problems after being replaced

So, I decided to upgrade my SSD. Everything went well; so, I thought. When I put everything back together, I pressed the power button, and nothing happened. I believed the laptop would not turn on. I made sure that all the cables were plugged in and tried it again and everything was in place. I went to turn on the laptop after a few hours and it finally it tuned on. It powered on like normal. I was happy. I noticed that the screen will glitch when the laptop turns off the screen. If left powered on and in sleep mode, most of the time the screen will not turn on, and if it does turn on the screen flickers glitches, and then goes to normal operation. (I believe the first time this happened, I powered on the laptop without the screen plugged in by accident.) I also noticed the touch screen would not work. I decided to switch screens; believing I had damaged it. I bought a new screen, and new cables to make sure I was covered. I did not buy L shaped digitizer. Anyone know what went wrong and how I can fix my laptop?
