Computer keeps shutting off display input, thought it stays on

So I know this was probably dumb, but I bought most of my parts as Amazon renewed, which I’m sure is causing a bad programming glitch/bug to mess it up but, just getting that out of the way. Now it worked fine for about a month after putting it together, I noticed a few weird things like, randomly booting me out of a game for no apparent reason, or just crashing when playing a game that was too graphics intense, I just figured, “eh, makes sense”. But now it’s gotten to the point where I just won’t open some games, (Forza horizon 5 through the Xbox app for example, just loads the boot screen then never even opens the launch menu) and what it’s doing is killing display power (it seems, I have an HDMI splitter that turns a light on when detecting an input that doesn’t turn on when this happens) but when I log into Google Remote Desktop on my phone, all I can see is the top left quarter of the screen. I don’t know what the hell it’s doing, it’s not overheating because it’ll do it 10 mins after boot up, but it will also wait 3hours after boot up. And now it doesn’t matter if I’m in a game or just cruising through the internet and it’ll still do it, so it’s not only when it gets graphics intensive. I’m sure it’s a programming bug, but I am just clueless where to even begin, and I don’t have the finances to take it somewhere to look at it (distance to a pc shop that works on gaming PCs, and then the repair price)

What I bought through Amazon:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800 integrated Radeon graphics

AMD CPU cooler that came with the CPU

ASUS TUF RTX 3070

ASUS TUF X-570 Plus

(Not renewed)Teamgroup T-Force Delta TUF DDR4 16gb x2

From my old PC:

EVGA 650 gold PSU

1tb hybrid harddrive

1tb standard harddrive (couldn’t tell ya RPM or whatever else)

Surely you have the Ryzen 7 5800G as the Ryzen 7 5800 doesn't have integrated graphics?

I would try taking out the ASUS TUF RTX 3070 graphics card and use the integrated graphics Radeon Vega 8 to see if the problem is the problem. If it still happens then you may have a motherboard issue.

If not then the ASUS TUF RTX 3070 may either have a driver issue or is defective.

Run this program Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode following the direction carefully. I would boot up first to setup the integrated graphics Radeon Vega 8 driver. Once that is working then follow ASUS's directions for the ASUS TUF RTX 3070 card.

That will correct any possible driver issue.

Let us know how it goes.

So I have tried running it on just the integrated graphics, and it does the same thing. I’ve also done three full drive wipes because I thought I had drivers from my old PC still messing with it, problem has occurred more frequently and worse afterwards…

@tylert

Does it stay on if you get into BIOS and leave it there for a while?

Things to try:

  • Check in Event Viewer for any Critical, Error or Warning events that may be logged at the time that the problem occurs. If there are any search online using the Event ID and Source information to find out what it means. To get to Event Viewer, press the Win Key + x key (both together) and click on the link.
  • Check that the memory is OK by using the Windows Memory diagnostic
  • Check that you have the latest BIOS version installed on the motherboard
