New pictures more notes

The only test I did was the flash light test. The tv image went super dark after a min of being on and the image would only come back after the tv was turned off for a while but the image would go back to dark after a few min. Anyways, when it did go dark I would flash the light at it and could see the image better

Michael Rey post one picture of all the boards and all the interconnect cables. Essentially what you look at when you remove the back cover.

Gotcha !! I got a few more

@Michael Rey thanks for the images. Yes, your “inverter” is part of the mainboard.

@oldturkey03 so the main board is the power board, the brown board ? Also would you recommend switch bothering with the light strips ?

Also THANK YOU SO MUCH! @oldturkey03

Michael Rey your TV may not have a inverter board. The inverter circuitry is most likely part of the power board. Remove the back cover from your TV and post some good pictures of the board layout and the interconnect cables. That way we can verify and hopefully guide you further. Sounds like you are having backlight issues. Remember, Vizio has issues with bad backlight strips.

Hi,

To add to the answer, looking at the images you posted, the power board has a connector (CN202?) which has 8 outputs all with +18V and 8 with gnd.

I dare say that these wires are the backlight power feeds.

If the wires go through the chassis to the screen then most probably they are.

If to another board on the back then they're not.

With the TV turned on, use a DMM and measure the voltage on pins 1-8 with reference to an earth, e.g. a screw head.

If there is no voltage then most likely it the power board, or perhaps the mainboard telling the power board not to turn this voltage on. I don't know how Vizios works in regard to the backlight power whether it's controlled by the mainboard or not.

If you measure +18V and the backlights aren't on it's the strips although it would be unusual for all of them to fail at once.

The LWZ2VIKT has the LED driver on the mainboard. Last picture is yours. Its the LWZ2VIBS, LWZ2VICS or LWZ2VIDS that use a separate board

Any screen I've worked on the inverter is in the screen surround connected to the backlight. If you find it be careful you don't get a shock
