How do I replace my fpc cable?

How do I replace/ repair the FPC cable/ connector going from my touchpad to the motherboard? Somehow, my keyboard cable had pulled out of the connector, and as I was trying to reach in to get it, I accidently pulled/ knocked my touchpad FPC loose on both ends, and I don't know what goes where, help please ?

Hi,

Here's an image taken from a teardown video for the laptop, that shows the 3 cables connected to the keyboard/top cover assembly and where they connect to the motherboard.

@Rooster Cogburn

I received a message that you accepted my answer i.e. it should become the Chosen Solution when you do this but when viewing it there is no evidence that this happened.

Did you unaccept my answer at all for whatever reason?

Just curious as they've introduced new software on this forum recently and I was wondering if it is a bug or not as this has now happened to me twice.

usually if someone unaccepts an answer there is also a message showing that this occurred as well - or at least there used to be.

Thank you for any feedback regarding this.

BTW I'm not concerned if you did unaccept my answer. Just want to know that it isn't a software problem.

@jayeff Sorry to «derail», but this happened to me twice also. Once this weekend, and once earlier this week. Think it might be a bug that’s not happening every time, but sometimes (which is kinda weird).

Hi @geirandersen

I'll wait for a reply from the OP (if there is one) and go on from there.

If it was an unintended accept answer by the OP and then was followed by an unaccept by the OP- so be it, their choice. If not I'll follow it up with the admin.

As the old saying goes- "once is coincidence, twice is happenstance, third time it's enemy action" or in this case possibly a bug. ;-) (from Ian Fleming - Goldfinger)

Did your accepted answers, which turned out to be not accepted show up as an unaccepted answer in your "Subscribed" list of answers that you have provided? Look under the avatar to the right of the answer where it shows the last user who commented/answered etc the question. It should show answer unaccepted under the avatar User ID of the OP, unless someone else commented/answered etc it after it was unaccepted of course.

Cheers

@jayeff Sorry for taking so long to answer; I've been neck deep in Arduino code...

I could only find one of the two questions where my answer was accepted, but there has been comments after my answer was accepted, so it's not showing there.

I did some digging, and reviewed the History of the question, and in that case it appears to have been unaccepted, as there is a green line saying accepted, but then a red line saying "unaccepted" right after.
