Audio Board / Speaker - Data sheet/pinouts (Mac Conversion)

Hi All,
Got a iMac Intel 20" EMC 2133 and 2210, that was about to be scrapped, Im attempting to convert to a second monitor

Got the screen back up and running with a generic LCD driver, board that takes in HDMI feed and has its own audio out (4 pin)
Ive read on here that its meant for cheaper speakers and is insufficient to drive the IMacs.

But i was wondering if
A) there would be a way to use the Macs old audio board, to drive the speakers again, but adding in a signal from the LCD drivers that the Macs board can then take and use?
B) If there are any special requirements for driving the Macs speakers other than having correct power, if not could they be driven by a hobbyist audio board?

If someone could point me to how to find a pinout or specifications of the speakers/audio board it would be greatly apricated.

Thanks for your time

I'm curious if you got this resolved? Did you just got an stereo amplifier and tied the base & tweeter togerher?
I'm looking at something as this: Amazon.com: Audio Amplifier Board, DROK 5W+5W Mini Amplifier Board PAM8406 DC 5V Digital Stereo Power Amp 2.0 Dual Channel Class D Amplify Module for Speaker Sound System DIY : Electronics

What you need here is a small AMP unit to power the speakers. This AMP will also need a power feed as well from the power cord via its own transformer (12/24v depending on the AMP unit). Then feeding the audio wire out thru the case to then plug into your Mac's audio output.

Thats what I would do as its a lot easier to wire up the speakers (twitter and base speakers for each side).

Hi, thank you for taking the time to reply to me!

Just to clarify, by

'Then feeding the audio wire out thru the case to then plug into your Mac's audio output.'

By macs audio output, do you mean plug into the macs speakers? or the old audio board from the mac?

Additionally do you know where i could get the specifications for the speakers (speaker wattage and impedance, etc)?

Thank you

@Test Acc - The altered iMac's speakers need to connect to your other system iMac or Mac Mini as examples.

To clarify: Speakers (four wires per) connects to the AMP (Left & Right - Base & tweeter) which is inside the case. The Amp its self needs power via a small transformer to the AC cord to the AC outlet which could be shared with the conversion kit internally in the case so you only have one AC cord out. The video and speaker input cables then connect to your other systems Aux speaker/headphone jack for the audio signal.

Test ACC here is the schematic for the Audio board. 820 2136 Audio Board. If that is not working for you, use the speaker cable connector pinout on page 7 as a guide to wire the speakers to a pre-amp. We would need to see the driver board that you are using, so we could determine how to connect a pre-amp to it. "read on here that its meant for cheaper speakers and is insufficient to drive the IMacs" not quite the way it works. Those boards do not have an audio amp and are usually just enough to add some headphones. Anyhow, use that audio output to connect to an inexpensive amp (5W will be sufficient) and run the iMac speakers on that. Not to complicated really. Wiring the pieces together will depend on what that all looks like. To post some pictures of it all with your Question, use this guide Voeg afbeeldingen toe aan een bestaande vraag
