Why do my computer lights not flash?

Both my blue and orange lights on my Spin 3 aren’t flashing anymore. Usually they flash. I had some water damage with it, so that might be the problem. I have reset the battery many times now and that makes the orange light turn on, but the laptop screen doesn’t. I don’t here any fan noises either. The water spilled on the front of my laptop and not the back of it (I was on a plane and the water bottle was loosened) so that might be an advantage. I see dust and it looks dry so that might be good.

Seems like the water has damaged something. The impurities in water creates circuit paths for the electricity which may not be in the operating design of the laptop and could damage components. It also causes corrosion to occur adding to the problem.

Do not try to turn on or charge the laptop and disconnect the battery as soon as possible so as to minimize any further damage.

There is always power somewhere on the motherboard even when the laptop is switched off. The power button is not a power isolating switch. Its function is to signal the intentions of the user.

Since there is minimal function you may have to get the schematics (supplier example only) for the laptop’s motherboard (is it a Pegatron ST5DB?) to find out where the problem is.

Start at the power input and work forward.

You may have to contact a reputable, professional laptop repair service if you are unfamiliar with doing board level fault finding and repair using schematic diagrams.
