While replacing my front screen I disconnected the home button ribbon located under the speaker configuration. Now I can't get it to get back on to stay and work properly. How can I fix this?

it's a slide in connection with a lockbar..you need to flip up the tab/lockbar on the side that the flex will go in, then slide flex in on top of pins, when you feel resistance push the lock bar back down.

do you have a picture to show this or maybe a diagram?
I think that I may have taken the whole assembly off when I just needed to take the ribbon out. What disconnected was the connector. Do you think i broke it off beyond repair?

iPhone 4 Dock Connector Replacement
is it possible you have removed the dock connector? this link is about 3/4 the way through the guide, I think this could be it.

no i don't think so, my problem is where you connect the home button ribbon. I took/broke the (i hate to use this word, but I'm lost in words) "thing" that the ribbon goes inside off. not until i played around with it saw that the ribbon comes out of this small piece. my problem is how do i correctly reconnect this piece?
