iMac doesn’t work with new graphics card
Hi guys, my iMac 21.5 2009 started having vertical lines, so I bought a new graphics card, exactly same model, but now it isn’t working properly. Sometimes it boots, and works perfectly, for 2 or 3 days. Sometimes shutdowns unexpectedly, with error -128. Other times simply doesn’t boot. I have tried again with the old graphics card and it works perfectly(of course with the vertical lines). What can I do? Is the new graphics card faulty?
thanks

Did you try an external monitor to see if the problem shows up there?

How can I try with an external monitor?

You'll need a Mini DisplayPort to ?? cable depending on what your external display needs. As an example:
● Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Display Cable
● Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Display Adapter Cable
