Hi,

Have you checked that the condenser coils are clean and free of dust?

What is the temperature in the freezer and refrigerator compartments?

You said that there is frost on one bottom coil, do you mean the evaporator unit inside the freezer compartment?

If so and assuming that the compressor is running (is it hot to the touch?) then it may be that there is a blockage in the sealed system.

Post some images showing the frost on the coil.

Here's how to do this

Also check for any oily residues below the compressor or on the condenser coils near the compressor. If there are this may indicate that there is a leak in the sealed system.

Hi,

Have you checked that the defrost heater is OK?

You need to defrost the ice .Don't use a hair dryer on high as it may damage the evap unit. Use it on low only for brief periods to help speed the melting up. Turn off the fridge and leave the freezer door open

Then with the power still disconnected from the fridge, disconnect the heater element below the evap unit and test it with an Ohmmeter. Usually they test 20-50 Ohms

Just verifying that the evaporator fan operating?

If the compressor is running then if you manually operate the door switch (should be located in the door jamb of the refrigerator) the evaporator fan should start running. When you release the switch the fan should stop.

The door switch not only operates the light in the fridge but tells the control board to turn off the evap fan because the door is open. manually operating it with the door open, fools the control board into thinking it is shut. This allows you to observe the operation of the fan.
