It would be helpful for us trying to make a diagnosis if you could add a picture of what you're seeing on the screen so we can see it too.

I'm not sure I agree with Jeff that it's going to be as easy to fix as they seem to think, but let's see what the damage is so we can try and figure it out.

First, are you able to disassemble and re-assemble electronics? If not make a friend that does.

These LED TVs are so easy to fix it's crazy.

Review the steps in this you tube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTshhd0l...

Remove the base / stand

Locate and remove the screws that are usually on the edges.

These is probably a screw or two on the rear panel where all the external cables plug in.

You should ensure that all the screws are the same type and size: you can sketch on paper and tape them to it.

The next steps require you to be extremely careful and patient.

Rarely does a cable able to be simply pulled out and back in.

Depending on the specific cable, there may be tabs to squeeze or have a hinged cover that requires a tiny edge like a razor blade to carefully lift it up.

Make sure there is no visible burnt spots on the boards and cables. If not then proceed.

Carefully detach each cable, one at a time and look for damage; if it's good then plug it back in.

Not knowing where you hit the TV with the zapper, you may want to pay close attention to the board the LED cable(s) plug in to.

There are repair kits that are generally pretty inexpensive, here are a few

There's no reason that you can't fix this, period, and at a low price.

@donotusebugzap @problemsolver99 @dadibrokeit Some of the troubleshooting is really not to bad. It is very general and really does not approach the real initial issue. After all "left half of screen has vertical bars and discolored zones" those are not separated until the T-con board (or the main board), depending on what this TV has. From there, it is the LED driver boards that are directly mounted to the LCD via some fine ribbon cables. Those are all pretty much on top of the panel. Zapping those can easily be destructive to the components on these boards. A good visual inspection would most likely reveal which components got zapped.

Now here is another issue. This question is 3 1/2 years old and hopefully Don Tuseabugzapper has his TV either fixed or sadly, it is somewhere on the landfill.
