I believe @israel is correct on the Backlight issue. Power on your phone, look for the apple logo. If you do not see it, wait 2 - 3 minutes then push the power button to wake it and the home button after while shining the light at different angles. you should see something by trying the different screens to verify back light issue.

Hey there! haha Thanks Mayer, we all learn things everyday.

Savas, you can either have a no backlight issue or a not image issue. It sounds like no backlight is the issue even though you say shining a light doesn't help. It is hard sometimes to see image, usually when you are turning on the phone and the apple logo is shown the best time to identify backlight issue. If it is a non image issue most likely there are small square components on top of the LCD connector that could be knocked off easily. However backlight circuit can be affected when working on a phone with a plugged battery, so make sure to ALWAYS disconnect the battery first! I can look at it if you want to mail it in ;)

A common problem is long screw damage. This is on the shield that covers the display connectors, there is one long screw and if you put it into the wrong hole it will damage the traces inside the motherboard. It is common for the display to no longer work.

It could also be a blown filter that may have been shorted to ground when you opened the phone when powered up. This is a very small component soldered onto the motherboard.....

Either way if you want to get the phone back to life it will need a professional repairer that does micro soldering
