already tried changing the signal cable but its dim still

it could be that the screen isn't being as energy efficient as it used to causing a lower max brightness, look if you can find a small flat knob that a phillips head can fit into to adjust the voltage.

Have you tried System Restore? Or a Last Known Good Configuration?

Have you tried changing the brightness using something like Fn+F11/F12?
