Why is my laptop overheating?
My laptop keeps overheating everytime after about 10-30minute of use. I have tried to clean fan and replace thermalpaste without success. Now im here to ask some help.

Does the laptop shutdown or give you a message etc regarding overheating?
What program(s) are you using when the laptop overheats?
Is the fan running on 'high speed' all the time from when you first start the laptop?
Open Task Manager (right click on taskbar and click on Task Manager) and check the CPU % usage. If high check what apps/services/processes have high usage. Find out which ones and why they have.
Which exact DV3 model laptop do you have?
Is there enough RAM installed for the tasks / program(s) that you want the laptop to perform / run?
Is the HDD activity light on continually because the HDD is being used as RAM.
Have you checked Event Viewer to see if there are any clues to be gathered from there regarding your problem?

- Laptop just shutsdown and doesn't give any messages.
- It doesn't matter about programs even in just desktop for like 15 minutes it will overheat.
- Nope it just start running "high speed" in his last minutes before overheat.
- CPU usage is normal nothing too high.
- It's DV3-2390eo.
- Yes there is enough RAM.
- In my opinion activity light is flashes like it normally should.
- Yes i have checked but no clues...

How do you know that it is overheating and not shutting down for another reason?
Try running in safe mode and see if it happens.
Try running a program from a bootable USB like memtest 86 free edition and see if it happens. The reason i selected this was not to test the RAM (which takes a while if you do the full test) but to boot and run a program from a USB (change boot order in laptop) so that you are not using Windows or the HDD at all. Basically if it still happens it will be a hardware fault (which I know that you already know or suspect) but at least you will have proved it rather than it being a software problem caused by a faulty service or process running in the background.

@leipa, Niklas, Run your virus/malware protection to ensure you have not been infected. Check and update you Bios and drivers. Try a thorough cleaning of all vents/fan/board using canned compressed air. Try system restore to an earlier date when computer was running better. Use your computer on a hard surface free of dust, carpet, table clothes, bedding etc is the worst for attracting dust and restricting cooling. Try disabling the Quick Launch from the start up if on your computer, as some forums say it solved their issue of over heat/shut down. Some laptops run cooler when not plugged in, try running on battery only. You could perhaps add/purchase a cooling pad for laptop to sit on, may help.

One thing that works great is if you get a little fan thing that attaches to the bottom of your laptop, they can be found at best buy or any other computer store.
