Screen brightness going dim

Hello, what would be wrong if the display seems to be going dim and having to turn the brightness higher to see darker scenes of a movie? Not sure what the problem is. Like the scene in Lord of the Rings when the squid monster is after Frodo and the others before they go into the mine, it very dim on my tv now and I don't remember it being this way before.

owens what model is your TV? This could be an issue with your backlight as well as a bad panel but this will depend on your model.

Check the capcitors on your power board. It sounds like you are having backlight issues coming from the power board. Post some images of your boards so we can see what you see. Use this guide Voeg afbeeldingen toe aan een bestaande vraag for that.

I figured it out, my video card was turning down my brightness on my movies. All video plays thru it so it was the culprit. I didn't think that was the problem cause it seemed to do the same thing on other sources but come to find out, it's fine on other sources now. Thanks for your help. I will get back to you if I have any other problems. But yeah, it was the settings on the video card.

Turned out it wasn't the video card after all, it is the tv, something is going out, sometimes it's fine, then it goes dim, what would need to be replaced? Thanks.
