Coffee pot does not turn off - just replaced the thermostat.
I have an 8-cup Farberware coffee percolator (FCP280) that stopped heating properly (it would not get hot enough and made tea-colored coffee). I replaced the thermostat with a ceramic thermostat for coffee makers that is supposed to turn on at 131 degrees and off at 145 degrees. I tested it with just water and with coffee and it percolated for 15 minutes at which time I unplugged it. Also, I checked the temperature of the coffee and it was 200 degrees.
Any suggestions?

@vineandvalley double check your wiring and make sure it is properly routed. Sounds like your thermostat is at fault here. I'd check the data sheet for the thermostat and see when it cuts on-off and what contacts will have to be connected for that to happen.

It didn't come with a data sheet, but I will see if I can find one online. Thanks!

I'm out of my element looking for data sheets. However, this is what I know about the thermostat:
"Ceramic thermostat 145 degree, used in many coffeemakers. Rated 10amp, 250v. Temperature rise off at 145 degrees temperature, temperature fall on at 131 degrees."
Is is possible to install this in the reverse? There is nothing that indicates that one terminal is different from the other.

Not really because it is a simple switch that opens and close its contacts according to the temp. Of course you can always try to reverse the wiring. The concern here is that it went all the way to 200 degrees....

That's my understanding of this type of switch, too. I'm perplexed. I bought two thermostats to have a back up and the second one operates the same way.
