My ADF is not picking up the paper.
I have an Epson WF-2540 printer with an ADF. I have recently been experiencing problems with the ADF since it is not picking up the documents on the feeder. A message appears on the screen telling me to place the document on the glass scanning top. I purchased this in the first place because I work for a Solicitor and I often have to photo copy lots of legal documents. Photocopying documents singly takes too much time. Can anyone help me. I have contacted Epson but they told me to take it to an Express Epson centre and the nearest one to me is in Bethnal Green London E2 which is too far away for me to travel. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give. I would add that I have checked the device to see if there is any jammed paper but it is free and I cannot see why it is not picking up.
Is dit een goede vraag?

I have an Epson M205 printer Just purchased. Even after spending 6 hours on Manual and internet I am unable to short out this problem.
When I put 5 legal size pages to copy in ADF it says “remove document from ADF and place it on Glass’. Why do i place documents on glass when these are lagal size documents ?
No any helpful idea on this thread.
The company engineers also silent on this problem.

Epson WF-2760 - Same problem. They need to do better. Had another one before and it did the same thing.

Try scanning multiple pages with the ADF(Automatic Document Feeder) when it is connected to a USB drive (USB drive port is in the bottom left corner of the front of the Epson WF-2540), scanning with the ADF doesn’t seem to work when connected to my laptop

I had this prob with WF 2750. There were also other things like it got confused about which paper I always use etc etc. I seem to have cured it. I returned it to default settings (Don't ask me how, I can't remember!) And all is fine. These Epsons are not user friendly and not logical. I'm not stupid, Epson should remember we're not all tech nerds, and have better things to do than waste time trying to solve their problems!

My issue seems to be that one of the ribbon cables was not properly seated below the scan screen. that in turn makes the scan head not sit correctly when waiting to detect documents in the ADF. I have not found a solution yet outside of a warranty return.
