Why does my 2.5yr old TV have a line running down it?

Hi,

My TV has developed a line running from the top to the bottom and slightly to the left of centre. It's only 2.5yrs old (last one was 15yrs old and it worked perfectly fine up to the day we supposedly 'upgraded' to this...

Any ideas what to do?

jenturner1 if it is a single line, usually no wider than a pixel, your display may have developed a TAB error. Post an image of what it looks like with your question so we can see what you see. Use this guide for that. If it is a TAB error one can sometimes temporarily fix that by applying some pressure on the flat ribbon cables that enter the LCD on the top side. Push where you see those lines and see if they disappear.

Thanks for responding, do those pictures help? I tried to get a blank screen so that it would show up better... It's now 7lines running down

Since those all look like they are vertical lines, I am sure this is a TAB error. If you would have lines that don't go all the way from top to bottom or some that are offset, it could have been the tcon board. Not sure if you want to take your TV apart and take a look at the tabs.
