castericca, for as long as it works for your purpose it is a good station. It depends on what your plans are. If you are going to do a lot of soldering etc. try to look into a HAKKO or Weller if you are going pro. If it is for the occasional repair, the one you are looking at will work. Biggest issue with the less expensive ones is the differences in temperature control. Some are all over the map with that and some are closer. You can always use a thermometer and thermocoupler to control your heat better. Remember that any tool that works for you, is the right tool.

my work is for the occasional repair. I'd like to buy Hakko to learn micro soldering but cost is very high
Looks sweet. But, Jessa Bethany told me not to buy a combo...

Do you have experience in microsoldring? What equipment are you using ?
Very little. I'm using a 15 watt soldering iron manufactured by radio shack. Looking to get a hakko brand soldering station and unsure about which microscope. Also I'm seriously underpaid. So I'm not just running around buying what I like
I agree you, Hakko is very expensive system.
