How can I fix the sound in the right ear?

Recently, my Bose OE headphones have been malfunctioning and have only been playing sound in the left ear. I am confident that the wire is not the problem, however, I am concerned about how I use these headphones. I tend to fall asleep to podcasts and whenever I do this I push down on either one side of the headphone. Now, I notice that if I push against the broken right ear headphone side, it plays the sound but only if the pressure is just right. Should I open up the broken right ear? Should I send it in for repair? Help is appreciated, thank you.

Kyle Phillips, this will really depend on you and your comfort level. If you want to fix it yourself you will have to disassemble it. Not a terribly complicated task, check the wiring on the driver (speaker) and the small circuit board. Use a multimeter to test for continuity between your audio plug and the driver and make sure that you have no break in the wire. Let us know about your decision so that we can help you further if needed. I do have a couple of sets of the Triport OE and could make a "quick and dirty guide" to assist you with that. Post an image of your headphones with your question. That way I could compare your headphone to mine and see if they are at least similar. To post images with your question, use this guide. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you for your response, and I will get to that. I would like a guide and I'm sure I do have the same kind of Triport OE's, atleast the same Triport OE headphones that show up on google images.

I had exactly the same problem, and it turns out that the retractile arm damages the cables. In deed one was broken. Thanks for the guide to pull my headset appart.

I had the same problem and figured out if I have the cable in just right(not snapped in how it supposed to be but out just a little bit) and I turn just just slightly on the cable jack til I hear in both ears.

I'm not an expert so not sure where the problem is or with exactly.

I initially thought it was one side of the earphone but I kept messing with it and discovered how I could hear with both sides.

There's no way I could only listen to one side
