the phone is not booting but is continuosly vibrating. screen is black no sign of switching on.

what could be the problem?

Try this. It happened to my Samsung Galaxy SII with android 4.0.4

1. Remove the battery.

2. Install another battery.

3. Turn on your phone.

This often happened to me on previous iOS versions. Did you try hard resetting it ?

(hold home+power button for 5 seconds)
