Where to buy a Logic/Motherboard Replacement

Hello all,

Can anyone help me with this, I recently replaced a battery on my 4S the battery went in fine (something I've changed plenty of times before).

This time however when turning it all back on the phone never found signal again, I tried everything I could think of and checked all the connections which seemed fine but still no luck. I took it to a local repair shop and they tried a few things and said somehow I'd blown a chip on the motherboard and it was basically knackered!

They tried something called re boiling the chip and this didn't work and told me nothing else could be done.

Is it possible to get a full replacement logic/motherboard and if so where and are they expensive??

Also has anyone else had this issue??

Si, PowerbookMedic has some used ones as well as ebay.com. These are used and the cheapest one is $250. New ones are available from places like alibaba.com Cost for those is $360 and up. Hope this helps, good luck.

I would go with PowerbookMedic, they have a good reputation where as you might end up not getting what you expected from an e-bay seller.

It sounds like the unit was still powered on when you replaced the battery. When you pull the battery connector, (while it's still hot) it causes the first capacitor and IC in line to blow out. Replace the cap and IC. AFAIK.
