I did something like this to an old Galaxy Mini S5570

Warning: Microsoldering involved, do this at your own (much higher than normal) risk

# Disassemble the phone
# Remove the motherboard
# Use a heat gun and low-melt solder to remove the charge port
# Lightly tin the pads of the new charge port
# Solder the new port in place (Small soldering iron tip and microscope are useful)
# Reassemble the phone
