In my case, the battery was dead. I tried to replace it with a spare battery, but no luck. Thing is, these batteries send their charging status to the processor via pins SDA and SCL (I2C). Then I opened the battery case, desoldered the + and - contacts of the actual battery, and connected the other battery I had.

Worked like a charm 😁
