Unfortunately, Bitlocker is designed to be a secure encryption system, and it is not possible to unlock a Bitlocker-encrypted drive without the correct recovery key or password. There are a ton of false promises for software online who want to steal your money.

The real answer is bitlocker is a anti brute force encryption system and you are not going to find tools in the wild to remove the password or let you access the data on the drive.

The only hope you have is to obtain the key through your friends nephew.

The drive can absolutely be formatted and used again you just are not going to get access to the data that currently exists.

***''Formatting Drive''***

1. Hit ***Win+R*** key, then type ***diskpart*** and press ***Enter***.

2. Then input these commands below in turn:

# ***list disk***
# ***select disk n***, where the n stands for the disk you want to format.
# ***list partition***
# ***select partition n***, where the n stands for the encrypted hard drive you want to delete.
# ***delete partition override***

Finally Type ***exit*** to close window. This will wipe all the data on the encrypted hard drive. Then you could create new partition on that drive again.

I hope this helps,

Cheers!!

Monte
