At this point I think you need to boot up under an external drive to check this drives status. Remember you need to be using Mojave or newer and the internet recovery will only get you Sierra which doesn’t understand about APFS as it’s stuck running HFS+

You’ll need access to a second Mac system to create a bootable USB thumb drive OS installer if you don’t already have a bootable drive.

Also how much RAM does this system have?
