I'm preparing to replace battery in my iPhone 6s Plus. I already have the Toolkit, so i'm just after "Part only"

However, watching video, it looks simple enough. After disconnecting battery form the corrector, is it "required" to disconnect the display assembly from logic board? This is no where near the battery, it just connects the display (from the top case to the bottom, so i assume disconnect is from a "safety perspective only".

Can i just go ahead and remove battery after display it, not worrying about display ? I know iFixit would care so proper procedure must be followed, but it doesn't really make sense to disconnect a display if all your doing is replacing the battery, when the cable only connects to board.
