Hi,
Why do you want to disable the onboard ram?
Most people want to increase ram, not decrease it.
Your motherboard supports a maximum of only 12GB of ram i.e. 4GB onboard + 1 x 8GB (max) removable
-If you disable the onboard ram the laptop may not start because it fails to pass POST as it might check that the onboard ram is there and working first. It will still work, although not as well, if the removable ram module was not inserted.
+If you disable the onboard ram the laptop may not start because it fails to pass POST as it might check that the onboard ram is there and working first. It will still work, although more slowly, if the removable ram module was not inserted though.
