ThinkPad T470 Battery Replacement Leads to Horribly Slow Performance

I own a Lenovo ThinkPad T470 and ordered a replacement battery (Item code: IF245-023-1) found [product|IF245-023|here].
Once I installed my battery into my laptop, letting it fully charge, the computer speed has slowed down immensely. I am pretty sure I’ve purchased the correct battery spec.
What can possibly be wrong/what can I do to fix this issue?
Could the battery itself be faulty?
