For the last few months they have had issues with the App Store with both iOS and macOS. I'm not sure if the OS updates them selves is the cause or something in Apples Servers. Even looking at the status page it still appears not to have issues, yet I too have been having issues too! The iTunes music & video store front has not had any issues!
