Check your battery. Mine was puffed up from over charging. It forced the screen to lift up causing the contacts on the volume AND the power button to not make contact. Put a new battery in (no tools required) and fixed all my problems. $25 plus shipping. If you can't slide the battery in and out easily, it is most likely causing this issue.
