Screen calibration off after replacement, calibrating doesn't fix

Replaced my screen & digitizer assembly with one from ifixit, went smoothly enough and currently have my screen merely resting in the casing as when I texted the touch screen I get a response but it seems to be consistently off slightly from my pen tip. When I first start my Surface and get into my desktop screen, there are two touch points in the top corner of the screen until I touch the screen in any other location. I tried recalibrating the screen but that seemed to actually make it worse. Any ideas? No damage seen to either of the ribbons.
