Screen is unresponsive after getting wet.

The full screen is totally unresponsive after the phone LG K10 got slightly wet.  I can see the time and hear messages come in, but cant open anything.

Any tips how I can get onto the phone to get contacts / whatsapp etc off and transfer to a new Samsung phone?
