Asus Q534U power button mashed into case body; needs replacing
Tekst:
Hello! I have an Asus Q534U laptop, and it took a tumble from about 30” in the air, off a rolling suitcase, while in its laptop bag (padded on 3 sides, but not the top … ugh!). Bag tumbled top over bottom, hit the floor with an audible thump, I started praying. Turns out the unpadded top of the bag, where there also is a small niknak pocket, must have had some small item in between the laptop and the floor. The laptop hit this random object directly across the power button, mashing in the silver button cover and slightly denting the case directly over side button.
I’ve “dug out” the button cover, and kinda unbent the case about the area (wasn't too bad), but the power button is entirely unresponsive. I think it needs changing.
Is this something you can help me identify the part for? Any thoughts if this is something I can manage to access fairly easily? I can manage the tools and any basic soldering, but I'm really hoping its simple plug and play component.
Appreciate the help!!! Repair shop/Geek Sq seemed entirely unreliable and looking to rip me off. With your help, maybe I can save myself.
