Take a look at the picture of Step 37 of this [guide|5473|guide|stepid=24014].

The wire bundle and connector on the speaker plug into a receptacle on the logic board. If that receptacle is no longer on the logic board, then you will need to have a micro-solderer replace it so that you can use the speaker again.
