Take it to AutoZone or similar auto parts store and have them put a load test on the battery. They will do this for free. I believe AutoZone also tests alternators for free. I believe they can do it while it is still in the car. You may want to call and confirm they will test the alternator with out you removing it.

When batteries are dying they can have enough voltage but not enough amperage. The load test test them both. AutoZone also tests alternators for free.
