Replacing the LCD panel on a Dell laptop is not easy. There's a whole bunch of screws that have to be removed in order to replace the LCD. Be sure you shop around, because LCD panels for laptops can be expensive, and in some cases, can cost almost as much as the computer itself. I learned that the hard way when I spent $600 for a new LCD panel for my Inspiron 8600! (the system died soon after replacement). So depending on the age of your laptop, I wouldn't bother replacing the panel. Just purchase a new laptop, which would be much cheaper and you'll probably get more powerful hardware (don't spend less than $1,500, though). So my recommendation is to shop online for your LCD panel, or purchase a new laptop. I have a Vostro 1400, and already there's a yellow line going down the screen. I'm not going to get a new panel, since the laptop is over 3 years old. Good luck!!
