How do I start up when my power button wont click?

My power button is broken? Stopped working...please help?

When I press my power button, normally it's starts computer straight away, but now it does nothing, it doesn't even do the little click. It's almost completely lacking in movement except a slight movement inward, but not a click.

My power button has stopped working.
+
Regularly, I press it lightly and it would start my computer up no problems.
+
Now, it is almost completely rigid, there is a slight movement, it's not crooked that I can see anyway, and absolutely nothing happening with my computer, no sounds or lights that I can see.
-
I've just replaced the power bank, and the screen although that's irrelevant, and I have purchased another button, but wanted to enquire as to whether there was something else I could do before taking computer apart, again.
+
I've replaced the power battery thingi and the the power lead and still no change.
-
The last time it worked I believe the power cord was ripped from the power point, prior to the computer being shut down, so there may have been a sudden surge or reverse?
-
-
I was doing data recovery, whether that's relevant or not I don't know.

Anyone got any guidance please ?

Has anyone had this problem and can let me know a solution please ?
