Try following the steps here [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-tcp-ip-settings#1TC=windows-7|Change TCP/IP Settings] incase you made changes that messed up your Network Adapter configuration. Also typically your fine leaving the DNS part o automatic but you can always try changing them to use Google's DNS which are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
