I just got an iPhone 5s for a battery replacement (not my first phone, repairing phones for work). After replacing the battery the phone just shows up the apple logo, for 10-15 seconds, then turns black/blue, with backlight turned on, after another 10 seconds it shuts down.
After further inspection I saw, that I damaged the lightning-port-connector next to the battery connector, so I got a new lightning-port-assambly, but after replacing this part, nothing has changed.
Some more testing I've done:
* connecting the iPhone to power source lets it power on, but doesn't boot, too. (even with the broken lightning-port-assambly)
-
* no DFU/Recovery Mode - phone doesn't show up on iTunes/Xcode

* ~~no DFU/Recovery Mode - phone doesn't show up on iTunes/Xcode~~(see comment below)
* display assambly was removed during the battery-replacement
