I had a same problem. Befor you connect new digitizer back, firstly disconnect old digitizer then screen itself and then '''disconnect battery'''. After that connect battery back next connect screen and then connect your new digitizer. Now turn on ipad, after apple logo all should work fine. I hope it helps.
