I have done many of my own repairs and in the old days (late 70's early 80's) made most of my own Gore-Tex and pile clothing. I also have had Patagonia replace a fair number of zippers (up to three on one jacket and two on a pile vest, plus a few others). I have had no problem with them fixing their products at all. At this point, some of my repairs are easier to do myself since 1) the piece is so old and beat up, it isn't worth the price of mailing to Patagonia, but I still use it; 2) it is cheaper to buy a zipper and spend an hour replacing it than sending it back.
