Do not replace Xbox 360 DVD drives, it simply does not work. You have to hack the drive firmware to make it work on the new console, or even hack the main system.

If the drive needs replacement anyway and you don't want to hack anything, open up the drive, swap the drive controller board then replace the drive. So you have to get a exact same drive model to replace the drive
