Hello,
Here is the story: The back plate of an iPad 2 Wifi & 3G needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, I was given a "Wifi only" back plate rather than a "Wifi & 3G" one.
Although there was a SIM Card in the slot, the owner of the iPad told me that he doesn't need or work via the SIM Card but via Wifi only.
I was wondering if it is possible to use this new back plate at all. Can I just fix the card unit with adhesive tape (there are no holes, of course, for it)?
This is my first repair of an iPad, so I would appreciate any input.
Steffen
